Dylan Scott is leaning into personal storytelling with his latest release “Slow Down Ol’ Son,”co-written with Matt Alderman and Will Weatherly.

The song draws from a phrase his mother often told him growing up—“slow down”—a piece of advice he now finds himself sharing with his own children. Alongside the song, Scott unveiled a music video filled with intimate home footage, blending clips from his childhood with moments from his life as a father, reinforcing the song’s nostalgic and heartfelt message.

The release arrives during a major career high: Dylan’s single “What He’ll Never Have” recently climbed to No. 1 on country radio, marking his seventh chart-topping hit. The song has become one of the standout country tracks of 2025, earning recognition from ASCAP and surpassing 400 million streams, making it the biggest hit of his career so far. Notably, Scott secured two No. 1 songs in 2025 alone, solidifying his place among the most-played artists in the format.

Scott is about to wrap his Till I Can’t I Will Tour, which made stops in major cities including Chicago, Fort Worth, and Las Vegas before it wraps-up in Texas on May 30. The tour included appearances from 12/OC, Kelsey Hart, and Lauren Watkins on select dates.
