Tori Kelly is ushering in a new chapter with the announcement of her sixth studio album, God Must Really Love Me, set for release on June 12. Alongside the news, Kelly released the first two tracks from the project: “Control” and “Dive.”
Tori shares: “‘Control’ is about how I cope when life feels crazy; how I always turn to God, and release those worries so they don’t end up weighing me down.” She added: “I wrote ‘Dive’ when I was seven months pregnant and feeling giddy and anxious about moving into the next phase of my life. It’s about recognizing that we won’t get it right all the time, but we just have to dive in and do our best.”
The upcoming album follows her 2024 self-titled release, Tori, and is being described as her most personal body of work so far. Much of that evolution stems from a surge of creativity Kelly experienced shortly after welcoming her first child with husband André Murillo. Tori said: “Before the baby was born, I’d tried to work on as many songs as possible, because I thought maybe I wouldn’t want to write once I was in mom mode. But then everything just hit me at once and right away I knew what I needed to say and exactly how I wanted it to sound. I really challenged myself to peel back the layers and go much deeper with my lyrics. In the past, I’ve held back from getting too specific in my songs, but this time I just completely let go.”
God Must Really Love Me features collaborators including Dixson, Nija Charles, Emily Warren, and Ammo. The bulk of the album was developed in Los Angeles with key partners Tommy King and Dan Farber, though some material also took shape while Tori toured Europe with Ed Sheeran in 2025.
In addition to the album release, Kelly is preparing to hit the road this summer as part of The Jesus Generation Tour alongside Forrest Frank. The 29-date arena run begins June 1 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and wraps August 1 at Globe Life Field. Stops include major venues like Madison Square Garden, Hersheypark Stadium, Intuit Dome, and Moody Center.
