Randy Travis has released the single ‘Mission of Love’ taken from his highly anticipated album Same Old Way, set for release on November 13th – marking Randy’s first collection of original material in more than 18 years.
The recordings featured on Same Old Way were drawn from Travis’ archives and span his recording career from 1986 through 2013. Longtime producer and friend Kyle Lehning assembled, remixed and remastered the material, bringing together performances that had remained unreleased for years. The title song is particularly notable because it is the only track Travis and Lehning co-wrote together and represents Lehning’s first major songwriting credit.
The album features the previously released singles ‘I Know Where I’d Be Without You,’ “Set The Blues Back,” “Fish On,” “I Don’t Care” and “Same Old Way,” as well as the tracks “Just Read The Signs,” “I Catch ’Em,” “There’s No Getting Over You,” “They Called It A Church,” “One Tear At A Time,” and “My Greatest Fear”.
The project carries added significance following Travis’ 2013 stroke, which caused lasting damage affecting his speech and language abilities. Rather than newly recorded material, Same Old Way allows listeners to hear archival Travis recordings made during his active recording years. The album also arrives as Travis marks 40 years since the release of his landmark 1986 debut, Storms of Life, while he continues his More Life Tour.
