Craig Morgan will honor America’s 250th birthday year with a new album that brings together his military background, country-music career and longtime patriotic themes. My Country, an 11-track set due Nov. 6 through BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, will include new material as well as familiar songs and a personal rendition of Toby Keith’s “American Soldier.”

Morgan shared that “this new album brings together two things I love – my country and country music – and it’s created to celebrate both,” and also said he was grateful to receive the blessing of Keith’s family to record “American Soldier,” which appears on the album. The project, which arrives ahead of Veterans Day, also features “Long May You Wave,” along with the newly released “I’m Country Music.” Morgan has performed the latter in concert and at the Grand Ole Opry, where the song pays tribute to country music and its connection to its listeners. The album also includes “The Will,” “That Ain’t Gonna Be Me” and “Blue Collar Prayer,” as well as previously released favorites including “Soldier,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “Almost Home,” “International Harvester” and “God, Family and Country.”

Morgan’s connection to the military is central to the project. He spent 17 years serving in the Army and Army Reserve before reenlisting in 2023 and currently remains in the Army Reserve. He also continues his veterans advocacy through organizations including the USO and Operation Finally Home. In conjunction with the album’s release, Morgan will host his Veterans Day 5K at the Grand Ole Opry House on Nov. 7, before his headlining performance at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium that evening. The event, presented with support from Humana, is designed to bring together runners, walkers, active-duty service members, veterans, military families and supporters for a community celebration honoring those who have served.

A portion of the race proceeds will benefit the Opry Trust Fund, Operation FINALLY HOME, the USO and the Dickson County Craig Morgan Foundation. Participants will take part in a professionally timed 5K and receive commemorative race items before a patriotic finish-line celebration. Morgan said, “We celebrate Veterans Day each year to honor the men and women who have served our great nation in our US military. I am inviting you to join me on November 7 to run, honor and remember our Veterans during this first-ever race and give back to those who have already given us so much.” Registration for the event is now open.  Head to veteransday5K.com for information.
