Miranda Lambert has revealed that Ella Langley is the featured artist on “Snakeskin Boots,” one of the featured tracks from her upcoming album, “Crisco,” set to drop on October 2nd.
“Snakeskin Boots” will serve as the lead-off single from Lambert’s 12-track album, with the collaboration reuniting the country stars following their work together on Langley’s “Dandelion” album, The ‘retro-Western’ song scheduled to premiere at country radio the same day “Crisco” is released.
Lambert and co-producer Jesse Frasure crafted “Snakeskin Boots” with influences from late-1960s Western films and Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang.” The song centers on a woman making an escape and blends vintage Western elements with a stylized sound that the album’s description compares with the atmosphere of a Quentin Tarantino film and Studio 54. “We wrote ‘Snakeskin Boots’ with Ella in mind. She and I are kindred spirits, and when we were working on her album, I realized how many retro influences we share,” Lambert said. “To me, this song is kind of Thelma and Louise if they didn’t drive off the cliff. It’s two badass women getting away with something, and she’s the perfect partner for that.”
The new duet also extends a creative partnership that has become increasingly prominent in both artists’ careers. Lambert not only co-produced Langley’s “Dandelion,” she co-wrote and co-produced her record-setting single, “Choosin’ Texas.”
