LOCASH and Parmalee have teamed up for the first collaboration of their careers, releasing “Let the Country Music Play,” a summer-ready single that reimagines Rupert Holmes’ 1979 hit “Escape (The Piña Colada Song)” with a country twist. Issued through LOCASH’s Galaxy Label Group, the track blends the groups’ signature harmonies and storytelling while celebrating the artists and songs that shaped the genre.
The collaboration pairs LOCASH’s Preston Brust and Chris Lucas with Parmalee members Matt Thomas, Scott Thomas, Barry Knox and Josh McSwain. Rather than revisiting the original song’s storyline, the new version shifts the focus to country music itself, paying tribute to legendary performers including Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton while embracing the genre’s party atmosphere.
Both groups have enjoyed sustained success on country radio. LOCASH recently scored with “Hometown Home” and has continued expanding its reach through its independent Galaxy Label Group. Parmalee, meanwhile, has built a string of No. 1 hits including “Take My Name,” “Girl In Mine” and “Cowgirl,” while surpassing one billion streams across digital platforms.
