Cole Swindell has released “Girl Dad,” a deeply personal new song inspired by the arrival of his first child and his transition into fatherhood. The track arrives as Swindell and his wife, Courtney, prepare to welcome their daughter, with the singer drawing on emotions surrounding the milestone and reflecting on the influence of family in his life.

The song finds Swindell celebrating the anticipation of raising a daughter while acknowledging how becoming a father has reshaped his perspective. The Georgia native previously revealed that his chart-topping single “Forever To Me,” originally written about his marriage to Courtney, took on additional meaning after the couple announced they were expecting their first child.

Girl Dad” continues a recent run of autobiographical material from the ACM Award winner, whose music has often centered on family and personal experiences. Swindell has spoken openly about the impact of losing his father in 2013, a loss that inspired his breakthrough hit “You Should Be Here.” The couple welcomed daughter Rainey Gail in 2025, with her name honoring Swindell’s late mother and carrying his own middle name.

The release comes as Swindell continues to promote his latest music and tour schedule. With “Girl Dad,” the singer adds another chapter to a catalog increasingly shaped by life events, offering a tribute to the joys and responsibilities that come with becoming a father.
