Carly Pearce has released the official music video for “Happy for Myself,” the latest track from her upcoming fifth studio album, Honest Woman, due Aug. 28. The release follows months of previews from the project, including “Dream Come True,” “Church Girl,” “You Can Have Him,” “She Don’t,” “What If You Loved Me” and the Riley Green collaboration “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay.” The music video also arrives just weeks ahead of Pearce’s “Honest Woman: Up Close” residency dates this fall.
The visual expands on one of the album’s most personal songs, portraying Pearce’s journey toward self-acceptance and emotional healing as she embraces life beyond heartbreak. Directed with a cinematic, introspective style, the video mirrors the song’s central theme of choosing personal happiness instead of dwelling on the past. Pearce moves through symbolic scenes that reflect growth and resilience, underscoring lyrics about finding peace after difficult experiences. The singer has described Honest Woman as her most authentic work to date, saying it represents a return to the traditional country and bluegrass influences that first inspired her career.
“Happy for Myself” is the album’s eighth track and was co-written by Pearce alongside Lauren Hungate, Jordan Reynolds and Emily Weisband. The record was co-produced by Pearce and longtime collaborator Ben West and features guest appearances from Riley Green, Dan Tyminski and Molly Tuttle. Pearce has said the collection reflects every stage of her personal and artistic journey while emphasizing honest storytelling and classic country instrumentation.
