Morgan Wallen has officially released his new single, “Been By Now,” marking his first solo release of 2026 after previewing the track during his sold-out Still the Problem Tour at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
Co-written by Wallen with Charlie Handsome, John Byron, Blake Pendergrass, Rocky Block and Taylor Phillips, and produced by Joey Moi, the midtempo ballad centers on a relationship that continues to struggle despite repeated attempts to make it work. The chorus features the lines, “If it was meant to be, we’d have been by now / We wouldn’t have to keep trying to work things out,” underscoring the song’s theme of accepting when love may have run its course.
Wallen first hinted at the song in early June before sharing an acoustic piano rendition on social media earlier this month. He then introduced the full version during a concert in Baltimore, telling fans he had spent recent time in the studio working on what comes next musically. While he acknowledged he has not yet determined the direction of his next project, he confirmed from the stage that “Been By Now” would be his next single.
The release comes as Wallen wrapped the final dates of his Still the Problem Tour. His latest album, I’m the Problem, has continued to post strong commercial results, with industry tracker Luminate recognizing it as the most-consumed album across all genres in the United States during the first half of 2026 after its extended chart success.
