Cody Jinks will release an expanded deluxe edition of his 11th studio album, “In My Blood,” set to drop on July 24 through his own Late August Records imprint.
The original iteration of the record was tracked at the Sonic Ranch studio complex located in Tornillo, Texas, under the guidance of producers Joshua Thompson and Charles Godfrey. The material features Jinks’ backing band, the Tonedeaf Hippies, alongside a lineup of acoustic and electric instrumentalists. Reflecting on the overarching vision of the material, Jinks indicated that the framework expands upon the creative themes introduced in his previous 2024 collection, “Change the Game.” Speaking on the thematic connective tissue between the two musical chapters, Jinks stated, “I think that In My Blood, the song itself could be taken as the next chapter of Change the Game. We know what we did. We know where we’ve been. We know what we’ve done. In My Blood is why we keep doing it.”
The initial track list highlighted various original selections primarily authored by Jinks, alongside the promotional single “Found,” which was penned by Ward Davis, Brett Sheroky, and Andrew Peebles. The record also featured a title-track collaboration with Charlie Starr of the Southern rock band Blackberry Smoke. The newly expanded deluxe pressing adds further content to the track list, including the recently introduced composition “Good Man.”
The multi-platinum artist continues to support his new material through extensive live performances, and is currently traveling across North America on his multi-city Hippies and Cowboys Tour, which features rotating supporting acts such as Tanner Usrey, Ward Davis, and Shane Smith & The Saints.
