Hailing from the very small town of Coonamble, New South Wales, Australia (population 2750), Max Jackson caught the country music bug early. When her family moved to the harbor city of Newcastle she started performing at local country music nights and landed her first professional gig at age 13.
Finding inspiration in female country superstars like Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain and Kacey Musgraves, the sky has been the limit for Jackson in recent years. She sharpened her songwriting skills by making several trips to Nashville and Los Angeles, drinking in everything she could.
Jackson was the 2022 winner of Toyota Star Maker, Australia’s most prestigious country music competition. Previous winners include Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Brad Cox and international country music icon Keith Urban.
Her first single, “Little More Country,” reached the #1 spot on the Countrytown National Airplay charts and held that position for three weeks. She was nominated for two Golden Guitars at the 52nd Australian Country Music Awards, one for Best Female Artist and another for Best New Talent. In 2024, she took home the award for Best New Talent.

Jackson performed at some of Australia’s biggest country music festivals in 2024 and released three top 10 singles; “Fixin’ Things,” “Who You Did It With” and “Hold My Horses.” In 2025 she earned three Golden Guitar nominations at the Australian Country Music Awards and served as co-host of the show alongside James Johnston. 2025 turned out to be a banner year for Jackson at the awards as she took home Golden Guitars for Female Artist of the Year and Single of the Year (“Little More Country”).
